On Tuesday, July 27th at 6 p.m., the Board of Ada County Commissioners will hold a public hearing wherein the Ada County Clerk will present the County’s Fiscal Year 2010-11 proposed budget. This will be held at the Ada County Courthouse – 200 W. Front Street, in the Public Hearing Room on the first floor. The budget hearing is specifically intended to offer citizens an opportunity to weigh-in on Ada County’s FY11 spending priorities. |

Today, Ada County Mosquito Abatement officials announced a highly concentrated effort to wipe-out adult mosquitoes within a specific 11 square-mile area of western Ada County. The area in question spans from Linder Road to East of Eagle Road and from Floating Feather Road to Chinden Boulevard. Brian Wilbur, Director of the Ada County Weed, Pest and Mosquito Abatement Department says mosquito populations in this area have exploded to levels never seen before. “We are setting new mosquito trapping records in this area. Historically, the average mosquito trap count hovers around 400, but recently that number has ballooned well into the 1000’s.” said Wilbur. |
