This is an important disclaimer, because tax bills will be sent out in November.

Please call this number if you have any questions regarding the values printed on this notice. The appraiser would be happy to answer your questions or correct any possible errors.

The physical address of the property.  May not be the same as the mailing address (the owner may have a post office box, or may reside in another city).

TAX CODE: Indicates which taxing entities will receive revenues generated from property taxes levied against this property.  PARCEL NUMBER: A code number that serves as an abbreviation of, or replacement for, a parcel's legal description.

 

ASSESSED VALUE: The value of the lot and the house, minus the Homeowner’s Exemption ($50,000 or 50% of the improvement value, whichever is less).
Categories of property established by the State Tax Commission, for purposes of assessment, equalization and taxation.
The number of acres of your property’s parcel. In this example, the lot is .189 acres.
If last year’s value doesn’t show on your notice, it is because the parcel is new (it may be located in a new subdivision, or split off from an existing parcel) or has changed status (annexation or change of use).
The estimated value of the category listed to the left. This is determined by analyzing the value of similar properties which have sold.
