Dave Case, Chairman
District 3 Commissioner

Ada County Commissioner Dave Case has spent more than 25 years in public service. Prior to being elected to the Ada County Commission in the fall of 2012, Dave was appointed to the Commission by Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter on May 25, 2012, to fill a vacancy left by former Commissioner Vernon L. Bisterfeldt.

Previously, Dave served as a Commissioner for the Ada County Highway District (ACHD), was an Idaho State Police trooper for 7 years, and is a former Hearing Officer for the Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole, serving 16 years in that capacity. Additionally, he served nearly 4 years on the City of Kuna Planning & Zoning Commission, with the last 2 years as Chairman, as well as having served on the Kuna School Board.

Dave values transparency in government, and believes that good communication and cooperation among the County, as well as with other government entities, are paramount to helping effectively guide the County forward. He also believes that part of serving the people and protecting public interest means listening to and responding to their concerns, and treating everyone with respect.

Dave currently serves on the Idaho Council of Governments, Ada County’s Air Quality Board and Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board, the Valley Regional Transit Board, COMPASS Board of Directors, and is liaison to the Central District Health Department.

Dave is a graduate of Boise State University, and resides in Meridian along with his wife and two children.
