Guardianship of a Minor
As of July 1st, 2004, it may be required that the courts appoint a Guardian ad Litem (an attorney to represent the child) for minors in Guardianship cases. If the court requires a Guardian ad Litem, the petitioners must provide the Judge with an Order Appointing Guardian ad Litem and will be required to pay for the Guardian ad Litem. As of July 1, 2004, pursuant to a rule change to I.R.C.P. 3(a), plaintiffs in family law cases are required to fill out a family law case information sheet and file it along with the complaint or petition.
