PLANNING ENGINEERING BUILDING SURVEYING
Mission Statement
Our vision is to be partners in our communities,
to provide leadership, and to promote
values that sustain our quality of life
WHAT WE DO:
Ada County Development Services provides land development permitting, planning and zoning regulation, and other land use planning to support the interests of the public. These services are of general benefit to the community and are not limited to the development occurring on individual properties in the unincorporated areas of Ada County. Development Services has a vital role and a mandated responsibility as a local government to act on behalf of the public to protect its interests and to support its values. Many of these tasks are only accomplished by Ada County government and are not performed by any other public or private entity. Development Services must coordinate with many other local government agencies in the processing of land development applications. These services must be carefully synchronized with the land development process. Development Services is organized into five divisions under the leadership of John Traylor with a staff of about 20 people with a variety of educational backgrounds and technical skills.
WHAT'S NEW:
►NEW BUILDING DIVISION FEE RESOLUTION ADOPTED - EFFECTIVE JUNE 09, 2009
The Board of Ada County Commissioners approved and adopted Resolution No. 1608. This resolution will primarily affect residential plan review fees and fire code plan review fees:
• Plan review fees for detached one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses must now be paid in full at the time of building permit application submittal; deposits will no longer be accepted.
• We will no longer be accepting "standard plan" submittals. Existing standard plan approvals will be honored until they expire or until the next code change in January 01, 2011.
• As of September 30, 2009, the Building Division will no longer collect fire code plan review fees, sprinkler review fees, or fire detection and alarm system review fees.
