Deadline to Appeal Property Assessments is Approaching
(Boise, ID) – The Ada County Assessor’s Office would like to remind property owners that the deadline to appeal property valuation assessments is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25th.
The Assessor’s Office estimates market value of individual properties as of January 1st each year, which is the first step in determining overall property taxes for the year. Assessment notices for the 2012 tax year were recently mailed out to all property owners in Ada County. If a property owner does not agree with the value stated on their assessment notice, they have the right to appeal the value to the Board of Equalization. It is highly recommended that residents who have questions regarding their assessment first contact the Assessor’s Office at (208) 287-7200 to determine if their concerns can be resolved without filing an appeal. To file an appeal, forms and instructions are available on the Ada County Assessor’s and Ada County Commissioners’ Websites.
