Commissioners Name Local Public Figure Larry Maneely as Chief of Staff
(Boise, ID) – The Board of Ada County Commissioners has appointed Larry Maneely to the newly created position of Chief of Staff to the Board, effective immediately.
This decision was announced by Commission Chairman Dave Case during a Commission meeting this morning, shortly after the private swearing-in of Case and newly elected Commissioner Jim Tibbs. Case was selected as the new Chairman of the Commission in a vote by his fellow Commissioners. A public swearing-in ceremony took place later in the afternoon where Maneely was introduced to those attending.
Maneely is a longtime former Boise TV sportscaster with NBC affiliate KTVB, and served 5 years in the same capacity with a Sacramento CBS TV affiliate during his 25 year media career.
Maneely spent 12 years in international business as a partner in a food export trading company, marketing Idaho products around the world. He also served 3 years as Deputy Director of the Idaho State Liquor Division, and most recently, has been an account executive with the Idaho Stampede basketball franchise, the NBA Developmental League affiliate of the Portland Trailblazers.
“We look forward to Larry helping us make Ada County an even more transparent place to do the public’s business,” said Commission Chairman Dave Case. “We believe the addition of Larry to our staff will help enable us to be more responsive to the citizens of Ada County.”
