ADA COUNTY RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING AND WASTE DIVERSION
FY 2012
The purpose of this site is to let the residents of Ada County see how much material is diverted from our landfill due to their recycling efforts.
Curbside Recycling
Curbside recycling allows residents of Ada County to help reduce household waste going into the landfill by putting recyclable material in special recycling containers provided by the local waste haulers. The recycling programs allow all recyclable materials to be mixed together, or comingled.
Recyclable household items include: newspapers and inserts, magazines and catalogs, mixed paper - including cereal and frozen food boxes with liners removed, phonebooks, envelopes with or without windows, junk mail, paper bags, wrapping paper (no foil), school papers (without glitter/glue), corrugated cardboard, plastics, aluminum cans.
Items not accepted are: Styrofoam, plastic wrap, plastic bags, bubble wrap, paper plates and cups, tissues, paper towels, napkins, food-contaminated containers as well as milk or juice cartons, pizza boxes and foil-lined bags, paint and other cans with caution words on the label, and glass.
