Boise River

Barber Park is located about 6 miles from downtown on Eckert Road between Warm Springs and Boise Avenues. Barber Park is opened year round, however, it is probably best known as the starting point for many Boise River rafters and tubers during the hot summer months. The park includes covered picnic shelters, playground equipment and numerous pathways and trails through natural wildlife habitat areas. Boise River adventure seekers will find raft and tubes for rent and free air stations for filling your own equipment. Mid - November through

mid - March wintering bald eagles can be seen perched in large Cottonwood trees watching the river for fish. Deer, also, are often spotted roaming the park in the fall and early spring.

              Park Hours:

              8:00 a.m. to Sunset

Gates close at sunset, so all vehicles not removed by sunset will be locked in the park until the next morning.

Glass containers are prohibited in the park and on the river.The launch is open for non-motorized use only.

Directions: From interstate 84, take the Broadway exit (Boise), continue on Broadway to Boise Avenue. Turn east (right) on Boise Avenue, and stay on Boise Avenue to its end at Eckert Road. Turn north (left) on Eckert Road, take first left turn from Eckert Road into park.

All pets must be kept on a leash while in the park.
