Ada County Weed Pest and Mosquito Abatement

Pest Control Services

Service:
Ada County Pest Control helps those land owners living within the Pest Control District to manage gophers (pictured above, left) and rock chucks (pictured above, right) that threaten agriculture or infrastructure on their property.  Our staff will visit a property, determine the best control methods, and work with property owners to abate these burdensome pests.  To schedule an on-site visit, please call our office or use our
online service request form.

To determine whether you qualify for services, look at your property tax bill and see if "Pest Extermination" appears on your list of levies. If your property is within our district's boarders (essentially unincorporated Ada County) we can provide services to your property.

In Ada County, only gophers and rock chucks are listed as agricultural pests, so these are the only animals Ada County Pest Control can abate. If you happen to live outside our pest control district, feel free to call our offices for a consultation; experts can highlight the process from purchasing to positioning a trap or poisonous bait. Call 577-4646 or visit our offices located at 975 E. Pine in Meridian.

For more information about Ada County Pest Control, read our 2010 Strategic and Action Plan.

Education:
Ada County Pest Control offers a monthly or bi-monthly class covering topics related to gopher and rock chuck control.  Students who attend this free, two-hour session will learn more about our program and activities, and about control methods that can be used on their own property.  To learn more or register for this class, please call our office.

Coming Soon:
These monthly classes will soon be offered in streaming video on our Web site. Check for these informational video sessions that you can access online at your convenience.
