Ada County Weed Pest and Mosquito Abatement

Weed Control Services

Ada County Weed Control works in accordance with state and federal regulations to eliminate or control noxious weeds found across the more than 1,000 square miles of land within the county.  State law defines a noxious weed as any plant that has the potential to cause injury to public health, crops, livestock, land, or other property.  According to Idaho Code 22-2407, property owners must control noxious weeds on their land.   Ada County can only treat noxious weeds on private property if the landowner fails to control the weeds.  In such cases, Ada County will treat the noxious weeds and bill the property owner for the county's weed control efforts.

Ada County's Weed Control staff are on hand to assist landowners with noxious weed treatment recommendations.  Residents with questions about controlling noxious weeds should call the Ada County Weed, Pest, and Mosquito Abatement Department.  The department's knowledgeable staff can also help landowners with safety issues or answer any questions about problem weeds.  Feel free to call (208) 577-4646 or stop by our facility located at 975 E. Pine in Meridian for weed identifications, questions about herbicide applications, biological control information, or to discuss any land maintenance issues.
