It is the policy of Ada County to ensure that all facilities, programs, services, or activities provided by Ada County are accessible to individuals with disabilities.  Ada County will furnish reasonable accommodations in the form of auxiliary aids and services where necessary to afford an individual with a disability an equal opportunity to participate in, and enjoy the benefits of, any program, service, or activity conducted by Ada County.

The Symbol of Accessibility

PARKING ACCESSIBILITY

In an effort to clarify accessibility to the Ada County Courthouse at 3rd and Front Street we would like to remind all cab companies, transport services, and assisted living facilities that the East parking lot of the Ada County courthouse is fully accessible to patrons with disabilities and in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

An accessible entrance and ramp is available in the East parking lot along with a primary accessible entrance on Front Street. Taxis, vans, and special service vehicles may access the East parking lot to discharge disabled individuals without incurring a parking fee. There is 10 minutes of free parking in all public lots at the courthouse.

For questions regarding parking please call Connie Jacobs of Republic Parking Northwest @ 368-7944 or Ada County ADA Coordinator Kelly Paananen @ 287-7133.

Assistive Listening Systems

ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES

Assistive listening devices are available for public use and can be accessed at the Information Counter on the 1st floor of the Courthouse. The devices utilize the latest infra-red techonology inside courtrooms for amplified sound.

Sign Language Interpretation

ASL INTERPRETERS

In special circumstances, a sign language interpreter may be needed to conduct business that may be too complex to explain with the use of handwritten notes; for example a court proceeding or Indigent Services issue. If an accommodation is needed contact Sandra Cockayne, Interpreter Coordinator, in the TCA office (287-7686) to make arrangements. Adavanced notice is required.

Telephone Typewriter (TTY)

The TTY or TTD telephone is located on the 3rd floor in the Indigent Services Dept. and is available for anyone to use. The number is 287-7979.
