RETURN TO WORK POLICY STATEMENT

Ada County values the safety, health and well being of all employees. It is the policy of the county to provide safe and healthful working conditions in all our operations and to follow the laws and regulations about the safety and health of our employees.

Should you become injured or ill, it is important that you return to employment with the county as early as medically safe for you to do so. We will stay in contact with you and your medical provider to keep up to date on your recovery progress.

Should you be assigned light duty work, you will be expected to follow the advice of your medical provider. If you have trouble performing these duties, let your supervisor know immediately. We will contact your medical provider to clarify the task requirements within your restrictions. If need be, we may modify the task and reassign you to another light duty job. You need to follow up with your medical provider as directed. He/she will need to provide a written report in the event that you are unable to continue working.

No one knows your job better than you do. Please help us by making suggestions about the duties you feel you can safely perform. Also, how your job might be changed so you, or an injured co-worker, can more easily and safely do it.

It is Ada County policy that you report all injuries and hazardous situations to your supervisor immediately.
