Roadside Herbicide Application

Perhaps you have seen one of our Roadside Herbicide Application Trucks on your way home from work or the grocery store. Roadways are a primary vector for spreading noxious weeds across the United States, as vehicles may inadvertently bring weeds or weed seeds from other areas. Ada County Weed Control cooperates with road owners (such as ACHD) to maintain the vegetation on roadsides, and controlling these weeds before they become established. Every year, our Roadside Trucks traverse hundreds of miles of roadways across the county; ensuring roadways are clean from problematic weeds.

Off Road Spray Service

When weeds become established in rough or difficult to access terrain, adequate weed control becomes difficult to obtain. While there are many options in the Treasure Valley for companies who will treat weeds in private and ornamental settings, larger patches of weeds in rough settings are more difficult to control. As such, Ada County Weed Control has dedicated spray vehicles that are built to withstand weed control efforts under unusually rough conditions, when other options may be limited. To inquire about these type of spray services, contact our department at 577-4646, or click here for more information.

Noxious Weed Surveillance and Control

Ada County has over 1,000 square miles of land area. Our weed control crews are well trained in vegetation identification, and always have a sharp eye out for new noxious weed infestations. When new noxious weed infestations are located, they are mapped using GPS, then they are aggressively treated to control the population before it spreads and creates a larger problem. Ada County residents are encouraged to bring by weeds they think may be problematic, or call us and we will come look at them in the field.
