Please note that this is an ESTIMATE of the taxes you owe.
This is an important disclaimer, because tax bills will be sent out in November.
The location of the property as located on official county plat maps.

Please call this number if you have any questions regarding the values printed on this notice. The appraiser would be happy to answer your questions or correct any possible errors.

The physical address of the property.  May not be the same as the mailing address (the owner may have a post office box, or may reside in another city).

The property owner's name and address.
The deadline for filing an Appeal.  Please don't forget to review our "Helpful Hints for Filing an Appeal" page. (see our "Appeals" folder and document link, left-hand side).

TAX CODE: Indicates which taxing entities will receive revenues generated from property taxes levied against this property.  PARCEL NUMBER: A code number that serves as an abbreviation of, or replacement for, a parcel's legal description.

 

ASSESSED VALUE: The value of the lot and the house, minus the Homeowner’s Exemption ($50,000 or 50% of the improvement value, whichever is less).
Categories of property established by the State Tax Commission, for purposes of assessment, equalization and taxation.
The number of acres of your property’s parcel. In this example, the lot is .189 acres.
If last year’s value doesn’t show on your notice, it is because the parcel is new (it may be located in a new subdivision, or split off from an existing parcel) or has changed status (annexation or change of use).
The estimated value of the category listed to the left. This is determined by analyzing the value of similar properties which have sold.

These values may not include personal property values. Taxes are based on the values shown on this Notice and on the Budgets of the taxing districts.
A governmental entity with authority to assess property tax levies to pay for needed expenses.
To see the levy rate upon which your taxes were based, please review the "Levy Rates (by tax district)" under our appriasal pull-down menu.
This amount is calculated by multiplying the assessed value by the prior year's levy.  Remember: this is only an ESTIMATE.
The taxing district's telephone number.
The date which public comments will be heard regarding the proposed budget. (We've left this blank for the time being).
