Ada County History
As part of our mission of Preserving Ada County's Heritage, the Council has produced the following comprehensive histories of our County. The first is in narrative form, the second in an abbreviated graphics and text format, and the last is a timeline of events, places and people that are significant to Ada County History.

Ada County Chronicles
A PDF version of the Council's PowerPoint presentation of the history of development in Ada County entitled Ada County Chronicles. This entertaining and colorful show covers the County's history from the earliest European travelers in the area to modern times. The PDF version contains six color slides per page. Simply click on the image at left to download this file.
The animated PowerPoint show that this PDF is derived from lasts about one hour. Groups interested in scheduling a showing should see our Projects page for additional details and contact information.

Ada County Timeline
A detailed 20+ page timeline, providing capsule details of signficant dates in Ada County's fascinating history. This effort represents perhaps the first attempt at a single concise reference for comprehending the scope of Ada County's history from the earliest European immigrants to modern times. This timeline was created as a component of the Council's first-ever Preservation Plan for Cultural and Historic Resources.
