Ada County Chronicles Slide Show Now Available
|
This dynamic and entertaining slide show made its first official public debut on December 12, 2006 at the Boise Young Leaders meeting of the Urban Land Institute. The show gives a brief overview of major events and people in Ada County's history as a basis for planning the County's future growth. Preservation Plan Ready for Public Review |
The public review draft of the Council's first-ever preservation plan for cultural and historic resources is now available. Simply click on the image above for a PDF version, or contact Leslie Toombs for information about how to acquire a hard copy. Comments will be incorporated into a final product to be adopted in 2007. Schick-Ostolasa Farmstead Listed in National Register of Historic Places |
On August 23, 2006 the National Park Service added the Shick-Ostolasa Farmstead at Hidden Springs to the National Register of Historic Places. The farmstead is significant in that it is one of a small number of historic structures in Ada County that date before 1870. The Council sponsored the listing of this property.
