Hazardous Materials Medical Response Team

HazMed responds to hazardous materials situations in Ada County and assists other local HazMat teams. HazMed's focus is rescuer medical monitoring, rescuer rehab, and advanced life support treatment of decontaminated patients.

All team members complete HazMat awareness, operations, and technician courses. In addition, each member completes numerous hours of continuing education requirements in toxicology, WMD training, and Advanced HazMat Life Support. Additionally, some team members are AHLS certified and and some are AHLS instructors.
