Cecil D. Ingram, Ada County Treasurer

"I was born in Blackfoot, Idaho.  I attended elementary school in Wapello, Idaho, and Junior and Senior High School in Medford, Oregon.  I graduated from University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, majoring in Accounting and Production Management.

Joined the Army reserves in 1951-1953

Enlisted U.S. Army 1953-1954

Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant 1954

Ordered to Korea 1954-1956

Fort Campbell, Kentucky 1956-1958

Army Reserves 1958-1968

Honorably Discharged from U.S. Army Reserves with the rank of Captain

On December 28, 1952, Lois 'Ann' Glen and I were married in Medford, Oregon.  We have three children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

While in the seventh grade, I had a paper route.  In the eighth and ninth grade, I worked as a caddy at the country club and also helped in the country club pro shop.  During the next several years, I worked at a local supermarket as a checker, stocked shelves and received freight and later at KOGAP Lumber Sawmill.  Attending classes at the University of Oregon, I worked for J.C. Penney Company and Safeway.

After graduating from the University of Oregon, I joined Boise Cascade Corporation in April, 1962, as an accountant in Boise, Idaho.  I took early retirement in March, 1991, as Manager Administrative Services for the Transportation and Procurement Unit with 29 years of experience in many different facets of a Fortune 500 corporation, learning the requirements of law, stockholders and lenders.

In January, 1992, I became the Senate Doorkeeper which allowed me to get aquainted with both parties' viewpoints, how the session is conducted as well as the elected legislators.  I then decided to run for election as a state senator.  I was elected in November, 1992, and served twelve years in the Idaho Senate.  I requested to serve on committees and groups involved with matters that impacted Ada County as well as the State.  This was a great learning experience.  After 12 years, I felt it was time for someone else to take my place and bring forth new ideas and issues.

After the previous Ada County Treasurer, Lynda Fischer, decided to retire, I decided that I would file the necessary papers to run a campaign for Treasurer.  Many voters remembered my active involvement in the county and I was elected in November, 2006.  I will never be able to thank each of you personally but now I want to thank each of you for your vote of confidence.  In taking my Oath of Office, I promised to do my personal best.  My staff and I are here to assist all of you and provide the best possible service."
